Adults who never completed the series or whose vaccination history is unknown can receive IPV, including those preparing for U.S. immigration medical exams.
Adults at increased risk (travelers to regions where polio is still active, healthcare and laboratory workers handling poliovirus) may need a booster.
Often required for U.S. immigration medical exams and school enrollment.
Polio is a highly contagious viral disease caused by poliovirus. It spreads from person to person and can invade the nervous system, causing irreversible paralysis. There is no cure for polio, but vaccination prevents it.
Polio has been eliminated from the United States thanks to widespread vaccination, but the virus still circulates in some regions. Anyone unvaccinated or under-vaccinated is at risk, especially children, international travelers, and immigrants completing their U.S. medical examination. Amy can review your records and administer the right dose for you.
